Morgan Stanley Investment Management offers investment management services to global investors, investing in equity, fixed-income and alternative products on a worldwide basis. As a member of the Client Account Services Team that sits within Morgan Stanley Investment Management Office of the COO, the individual will play an integral role servicing clients and facilitating client events including on-boarding of new business, account transitions and client terminations.

Morgan Stanley's Investment Management's product range is continually evolving into new product and strategy areas, demanding ever-changing infrastructure and solutions. The individual will be required to facilitate discussion with all the impacted parties to ensure that the appropriate support models are in place. Specifically, this individual will be tasked with covering events for our Portfolio Solutions Group. This business line spans across all asset strategies and types (traditional and alternative) through solutions that span fully liquid (public assets), comprehensive (public and private assets) and fully private. The Client Integration Team focusses not only on institutional segregated business but also on proprietary fund launches or closures.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Manage Global client events including on-boarding of new business, account transitions and client terminations for Separately Managed Accounts and Funds business
  • Coordinating support on the event pipeline with the Morgan Stanely team in India
  • Joint oversight of State Street Transitions team
  • Assisting with strategic priorities of the Client Account Services team and ownership of initiatives assigned
  • Achieve Global consistency and ensure desktop & supervisory procedures are kept up to date with current responsibilities
  • Act as single point of contact for both internal and external parties, including, clients, sales, portfolio managers, legal, compliance, risk, operations, custodians and other appointed client service providers
  • Responsible for the facilitation of all client events including client on-boarding, terminations, custody transfers, in-specie transfers and other related transition activities
  • Facilitating regular internal client event meetings, ensuring all functional groups have the appropriate level of information and that they are performing the required tasks.
  • Close liaison with sales and the client to ensure that client expectations are understood and accomplished
  • Strong relationship with legal and compliance to understand the requirements of, and provide feedback on, investment management agreements and all other associated documentation.
  • Work with Product Development, Fund Administration and the Funds Client Service group to set up new MSIM proprietary vehicles
  • Ensuring all procedural documentation is up to date and accurate
  • Provide and implement recommendations for process improvements, including workflow and technology
  • Working proactively with counterparts on a global basis, in making recommendation for process improvement and consistency
  • Using strong business sense and judgment to identify potential risk areas; making appropriate recommendations and highlighting those risks via the appropriate escalation channels

  • Working background in all aspects of Investment Management Operations, preferably with a focus upon transition events
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong business sense and excellent judgment
  • Good knowledge of the custody environment
  • Stakeholder management
  • Strong risk awareness and communication skills
  • Has proven ability to interact with multiple internal and external functions including clients, legal, compliance, fund managers, sales, client service and other functional operations teams.
  • Comfortable dealing with senior individuals and management across these functions
