Job Summary:
We are seeking an System Administrator (in other companies this person could hold the title of Systems Engineer, IT Systems Analyst, IT Support Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer), who will provide intermediate-level expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems for our clients.
In this role, you will support clients with tailored technical solutions, troubleshoot moderately complex issues, and ensure system reliability, security, and efficiency. You’ll work across mixed environments (Windows, virtual, and cloud - Azure), supporting Microsoft 365 (O365), Active Directory, and Entra ID (Azure AD). Daily tasks include resolving escalated issues, maintaining system performance, managing hybrid infrastructure, and providing technical support from the office, with client-site visits as needed. Clear documentation and collaboration with client teams are essential to success in this role.
To be successful in this role, you should come equipped with hands-on experience supporting IT systems across Windows, cloud (Azure), and virtual environments. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration, Active Directory, and Entra ID (Azure AD) is essential, along with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with managed service tools like ConnectWise is highly valued, as is experience working in multi-tenant or MSP settings. You should also demonstrate excellent communication, time management, and documentation skills to thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
General job duties include:
Conduct assessments of client IT environments—including on-premises, virtual, and Azure-based systems—to identify areas for improvement
Provide recommendations for system upgrades, optimizations, and new implementations tailored to Microsoft-centric infrastructures
Deploy and configure IT systems, including Windows-based servers, Azure cloud services, networks, and storage solutions
Manage and maintain server environments with a focus on performance tuning, patch management, and version control
Configure and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls in hybrid and multi-tenant environments
Implement and audit security measures across environments to ensure data protection and compliance
Set up, monitor, and test backup systems and disaster recovery procedures across varied infrastructure types
Support Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams administration
Manage identity services including Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD)
Utilize tools such as ConnectWise for ticketing, documentation, and time tracking
Address escalated technical issues from Level 1 support teams and resolve them efficiently
Provide technical support from the office, with client-site visits as needed
Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, troubleshooting procedures, and user guides
Collaborate closely with internal engineering teams and client stakeholders to deliver cohesive and responsive IT solutions
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
At least 2–4 years of systems engineering, systems support, or equivalent experience in a Windows environment
Experience supporting and managing mixed environments, including on-prem, virtual, and cloud (Azure) infrastructures, across multiple tenants
Experience with ConnectWise is highly desired but not required
Prior experience working in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment is highly desired but not required
Significant experience managing Microsoft 365 environments
Good communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships
Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Thrives in a team environment with the ability to deliver individual results
Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of computer use
Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and travel with equipment
Compensation:
The compensation is expected to start at $80,000. Our offer will be determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.
