The General Sales Manager in IT services is responsible for leading and overseeing the sales operations, developing strategic plans, and managing the sales team to drive growth. This role demands a combination of leadership, technical understanding, and customer-focused strategies to deliver exceptional IT solutions to clients.

 

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy and Planning

Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve overall revenue targets and business growth.

Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for expansion.

Prepare detailed forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Develop and maintain strong partners within the community for branding and referral partnerships.

 

Team Leadership

Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team.

Set clear performance targets and provide regular feedback to team members.

Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment, ensuring the team remains aligned with company values.

 

Client Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

Ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services tailored to client needs.

Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and complex negotiations.



Performance Tracking and Reporting

Monitor sales performance metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement.

Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management, outlining achievements and challenges.

Implement corrective actions where necessary to meet sales objectives.

Market and Product Knowledge

Stay updated on industry developments and emerging technologies in IT services.

Work closely with product development teams to ensure sales strategies align with technological advancements.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

 

Professional Experience

Proven track record of success in sales management, preferably in IT services or technology sectors.

Experience in handling large-scale accounts and managing complex sales cycles.

5-7 years account management experience with a focus on strategic relationships.

Skills

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Deep understanding of IT solutions and services, including cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software development.

Analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate market challenges.

Technology Proficiency

Proficient in CRM tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot.

Familiar with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.

General knowledge of ERP systems and IT infrastructure.

Salary expected to be $100k to $120k Dependent on Experience
