Job Description
The Barista is responsible for serving as the operational staff of the Basement Brewhaus. Daily responsibilities include accurately serving customers upon their purchase of products, the distribution of billiards, darts, and foosball equipment, light cleaning of workspace and establishment, and to ensure a smooth daily operation of the area.
This position reports to the Basement Brewhaus Student Manager and the Assistant Director of Campus Activities.

The University Centers Student Employment Program Wage Classification Scale classifies this position as Division I, Range I.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must be available to work a minimum of 6 hours per week during the semester and attend weekly staff meetings. Baristas must also work at least four weekend shifts, and three Encore Service Counter event shifts each semester of employment. Some working hours during breaks may be available.
Successful applicants must complete mandatory Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance Training within 8 weeks of beginning employment. PCI training will be provided by the University Centers and must be kept up to date throughout employment with the University Centers.
Successful applicants must also enroll in a Responsible Beverage Training class and obtain a Portage County Operator’s License within their first semester of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in customer service, food service, or as a barista/bartender is preferred, but not required.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with at least two semesters remaining at UWSP.
Education
The Barista must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits) and be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher) at the time of hiring and throughout employment.
