UW Veterinary Care (UWVC) is excited to welcome dedicated Veterinary Tech Assistants to our Small Animal Operating Rooms (SAOR) team. This vital role supports and assists veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care, surgical preparation and assisting in surgical procedures. Willing to train the right candidate.

This is a full-time, 40-hours a week position. The expected schedule for this vacancy is Monday through Friday from 9:45am – 6:15pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. On-call shift are required.

The starting hourly rate for the position is $19.00 (but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications).

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds independently
Physical and manual dexterity to perform specialized technical tasks
Basic animal handling skills
Ability to follow written and verbal rules and instructions accurately
Surgical experience
Knowledge of basic instrument cleaning and sterilization processes
High School Diploma Preferred
