Job Duties:

The Office of Dual Enrollment in the Student Success Center is searching for an Outreach Program Coordinator who will develop and host on-campus events for current dual enrollment students. This position will design innovative discipline-related events with academic departments and high school teachers. This position will also represent the office at area high schools to introduce students to dual enrollment at UWM.

This is a full-time, 12-month, fixed term, renewable academic staff position. There will be the ability to work remotely at times (as determined by supervisor). 

Key Job Responsibilities:

50% - Event Planning

  • Work with high school teachers, school counselors, and UWM faculty mentors and other UWM campus partners to design and coordinate appropriate on-campus and off-campus activities for prospective and current dual enrolled high school students.

  • Collect, enter, manage, and analyze data on program effectiveness.

  • Create event communications such as invitations, agendas, and follow-up materials.

  • Assist in developing marketing materials for dual enrollment events.

 

 

40% - Student and Community Engagement

  • Represent UWM at on-campus and off-campus events including application days, registration events, orientations, parent information nights, and other activities assigned.

  • Visit high schools to recruit, support, and communicate with prospective and current dual enrollment students, their high school teachers, and school counselors.

  • Communicate with current dual enrollment students throughout the semester to advise on course selection and ensure student success.

  • Respond to inquiries from prospective dual enrollment of students and parents.

  • Assist with application processing in Slate and Peoplesoft as needed.

10% - Other duties as assigned.

Department: Office of Dual Enrollment in the Student Success Center

Compensation: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 (Final salary offer will be determined based on qualifications and experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • At least two (2) years of full-time professional experience in Higher Education, High School setting, or Community-Based Organization focused on High School students 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with high school students with a focus on pathways to higher education 
  • Prior experience working with UWM academic departments and campus units 
  • Experience managing event logistics such as scheduling, registration, catering, space reservations, and day-of coordination 
  • Excellent communication skills, as evidenced by application materials and interviews
