PAY: $12.00

Scope of Responsibility Reading In the Disciplines (RID) group leaders facilitate group discussion, assign weekly writings, and maintain course records. RID TAs serve as junior staff members of the Tutoring-Learning Center (TLC).

Accountability RID group leaders are supervised and supported by the RID Coordinator regarding daily work performance, training, and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or Junior standing preferred

• Must have completed at least one semester at UWSP

• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (3.5 and higher preferred)

• Must have earned an A or A- in parent-course (or similar course content), preferably with the instructor of the parent-course

• Good interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to adhere to policies, deadlines, and procedures

(Instructor of parent-course has final approval of all personnel for their discussion sections)

Specific Duties include but are not limited to

• Leading RID groups by facilitating group discussion, assigning writings, and maintaining course records

• Attending orientation, trainings, professional development, and other meetings

• Being knowledgeable of and carrying out TLC and RID program procedures

• Communicating regularly with the RID staff

• Reading email on a regular (daily) basis

• Exhibiting appropriate and respectful behavior toward student learners

• Helping student learners to learn from one another and to teach themselves, rather than providing answers

• Keeping accurate records on appropriate forms and turning in records and paperwork in a timely manner as requested • Keeping a record of hours worked and submit timecards in WorkDay by required dates

• Returning any borrowed materials to bookstore, professor, and/or TLC.
