QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be UWS student in good academic standing 

  • Experience with handling money

  • Ability to multitask and solve problems independently

  • Experience with detail-oriented tasks

  • Customer service experience

  • Residence hall knowledge preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • CUSTOMER SERVICE

    • Provide quality customer service by dealing with students, staff, and visitors in a polite and courteous manner.

    • Attend to customers promptly and effectively.

    • Provide quick, accurate information to students, staff and visitors.

  • BUILDING OPERATIONS

    • Perform opening and closing procedures for the Yellowjacket Union as scheduled.

    • Oversee building in absence of full-time staff by identifying and resolving immediate issues.

    • Monitor service, safety, and security of student union by conducting hourly rounds.

    • Follow emergency procedures in absence of professional staff such as building evacuations, severe weather, or medical emergencies.

  • Setup room and technology needs for all building events and meetings.

  • Assist building users with event and technology needs.

  • Assist custodial staff with event setups and maintaining a clean facility.

  • Enforce all facility policies and respond to incidents.

  • DESK OPERATIONS

    • Handle money transactions and cash register accurately for all sales, fines and fees.

    • Answer all appropriate phone lines and transfer calls.

    • Check Residence Life email account and respond to all emails.

    • Log and submit all work order requests.

    • Sort and distribute all residence hall mail and packages.

    • Create student and staff ID cards.

    • Program and update fobs and ID cards for residence hall door systems.

    • Lead tours of the residence halls to non-UWS students.

  • COMMUNICATION

    • Use clear and professional written and oral communication when interacting with students, staff, and visitors.

  • Notify appropriate authorities and full-time staff of all incidents and emergencies; complete all necessary documentation for records.

  • Establish positive and open lines of communication with fellow staff members and supervisors.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality in working with student data. ​
