Job Opportunity: Qualified Boilermaker – Asphalt Fixed Plant
 

Alex Fraser Asphalt is seeking a trade-qualified Boilermaker to join our growing team at our Narangba Asphalt Plant. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, with rostered weekend work as required to support plant operations. As well as potential night shift works.

We are looking for a motivated and safety-focused professional with experience in maintaining and repairing fixed plant equipment, ideally within the asphalt, quarrying, or heavy industrial sectors.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform fabrication, repair, and maintenance of asphalt plant equipment, including drums, bins, ducting, conveyors, and associated steel structures.

• Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance to minimise plant downtime.

• Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance plans.

• Undertake welding, cutting, and fabrication (MIG, Stick; TIG advantageous).

• Inspect plant and equipment, identifying wear, defects, and potential failures.

• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure efficient plant performance.

• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
   

Key Requirements:

• Trade qualification as a Boilermaker (Engineering Fabrication Trade or equivalent).

• Demonstrated experience working in a fixed plant environment (asphalt, quarry, mining, or similar heavy industry preferred).

• Strong welding and fabrication skills across a range of materials and thicknesses.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.

• Experience with maintenance of conveyors, chutes, hoppers, and heavy plant structures is highly regarded.

• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
