Job purpose

Reporting to the Vice President, Molecular Imaging Oncology, the Area Sales Director, Oncology (ASD)  will lead the development and staffing of the area sales organization consisting of three core capabilities: managing a team of Blue Earth Diagnostics Molecular Imaging Account Managers, partnering with our manufacturing vendor’s sales team, and coordinating the strategy and tactics for key accounts (i.e., LUGPA, etc.).  The ASD will partner with his/her peers on the management team and build strong relationships with the Strategic Accounts, Clinical Applications, Market Access, Marketing, and Medical Affairs teams. 

Candidates will be comfortable working in a small, emerging company environment and will have experience leading high-performance organizations to the accomplishment of stretch objectives in a quick-paced, patient focused culture. He/she will have the ability to set a vision, to lead change, and to lead and mentor others.

Main Responsibilities, Activities, Duties and Tasks

  • Drive strategy and ongoing effectiveness/results of the company’s sales force to achieve/exceed sales objectives.
  • Lead the recruitment and hiring of the area sales team to attract the ‘best of the best’ in Urology sales with focus on referring physicians in the prostate cancer space while partnering with the company’s contract manufacturer’s Sales Force at the territory level.
  • Guide engagement with hospitals and independent imaging locations to promote adoption of company products through strategic planning and contract negotiations
  • Lead key initiatives and management of relationships with prominent segments of our markets, including but not limited to: Academic Institutions, LUGPAs, regional and community hospitals, and integrated delivery networks (i.e., Kaiser, Mayo).
  • Collaborate with the development and implementation of the incentive compensation plan for the US sales organization.
  • Provide frequent feedback and coaching to others on ways to improve performance and is proactive in providing developmental experiences for others.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop targeted sales strategies that optimizes promotional impact while capitalizing on current and future market opportunities
  • Partner with Commercial Analytics and for the effective use of sales analytics and reporting tools.
  • Other duties as determined by business needs

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

Professional Experience, Knowledge, & Technical Skills

  • Minimum of 5+ years of successful pharmaceutical sales leadership experience and/or progressive advancement within commercial sales roles, with a track record of achieving or exceeding performance targets including a diversity of commercial experiences across marketing and/or managed markets
  • Experience in a co-promotion environment
  • Strategic mindset, with a focus on delivering results
  • Analytical acumen that can translate macro level market insights to financial impact
  • Track record of building and leading/managing high performing teams
  • Strong collaborative skills, flexibility and experience within fast moving, agile environments.
  • Qualified candidate must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.
  • Acceptable driving record will be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:        

  • The position is field based
  • Ability to travel up to 50% (approx. 12~ overnights per month)
  • Some weekend work is required for sales meetings and industry related events and conventions.
