The Lease Management Specialist manages landlords relationships and lease terms once leases are executed. This role monitors landlord billing per the terms of the lease with the goal of driving lower operating costs and maintaining landlord compliance with lease terms. This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following key duties:
Reviews landlord billing statements
Analyze landlord’s year-end billings to verify accuracy and lease compliance
Negotiate resolutions for any billing disputes
Abstracts leases as assigned
Performs the weekly and/or monthly processing of rent.
Analyzes lease terms for potential cost savings and landlord compliance
Liaises with store operations for potential lease violations and resolutions of lease issues
Tracks and executes all critical information regarding lease information such as sales kick-outs, co-tenancies, lease expirations and renewals, etc.
Reviews and processes overage rent invoices that have been approved by Finance
Drafts in coordination with Legal, legal notices and documents
Collaborate with Store Development and landlord to collect tenant allowance as needed
Work with legal to revise or add more tenant friendly lease language
Responsible for monthly/annual sales reports
Perform landlord audits as needed.
Update and maintain the LIS (Lucernex) system.
Perform special projects as needed.
Additional duties and projects as required.
Required Education and/or Experience
Collegiate degree with an emphasis on accounting or other business related focus and 3 - 5 years of experience and/or training in lease administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience reviewing year-end billings and negotiating resolutions required.
Required Computer and/or Technical Skills
Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Word; intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and Access, or Google Suite Equivalents.
