Actuarial Analyst I

The Actuarial Analyst I supports the development and execution of actuarial analyses that inform pricing, reserving, and financial strategies across the organization. This entry-level position works under close supervision to gather data, perform quantitative analyses, and create reports that contribute to rate reviews, modeling projects, and other actuarial initiatives.

Core Responsibilities Include:

·       Supporting rate reviews, predictive modeling, reserving, and financial analyses through data collection, validation, and application of actuarial methods.

·       Preparing and maintaining analytical exhibits and reports used in presentations and regulatory filings.

·       Assisting with trend analysis, competitive studies, and risk management or reinsurance projects.

·       Communicating results and recommendations clearly in both written and verbal formats.

·       Working collaboratively within the actuarial team and cross-functionally with other departments.

·       Expanding actuarial and industry knowledge through exam progress, publications, and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree that includes coursework in quantitative analysis.

·       Successful completion of at least one Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exam.

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with statistical software such as Python or R preferred.

·       Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

·       Coursework or experience in finance, accounting, or business operations preferred.

We’re seeking candidates who are on track to complete their undergraduate degree by Spring 2026 in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical, detail-oriented professional to launch their actuarial career and contribute to meaningful business insights in a collaborative environment. This hybrid position requires in-person work availability in Brenham Monday–Wednesday.
