POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, fast-learning Full-Stack Software Engineer to join the AxEVA Mission Integration, Operations, and Training team. The engineer will bring an independent and creative problem-solving skillset, working on a variety of projects that will increase team effectiveness, improve training outcomes and timelines, and reduce information access costs to Axiom EVA flight controllers. 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain the teams premier training and operations 3d web-application.

  • Process and manage an up-to-date library of 3d assets, training videos, and documentation, including development of workflow automation tools.

  • Maintain industry best-practice security features to protect sensitive information.

  • Develop new desktop applications to deliver information faster, more effectively, and more intuitively to operations personnel.

  • Integrate AxEVA software products with major customers including NASA, multinational space agencies, and/or other commercial space companies.

  • Assist as needed with engineering development work across a wide array of disciplines such as hardware simulation, flight software integration.

  • Must be familiar or willing to learn languages such as C, C++, or C# or others to augment the team.

  • Manage and build training electronics hardware and support space suit testing and training as needed.

  • Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Implementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or similar

  • One or more years of experience

  • Preferred: experience in work environments in the human spaceflight engineering field

  • Track record of delivering outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

  • Uses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges

  • Proven to deliver high quality results under tight deadlines

Skills

  • Must be proficient with JavaScript React/ Three.js web development

  • Proficient with FastAPI,  PostgreSQL databases, or similar

  • Proficient with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) deployment pipeline tools such as GitLab, Docker, Flux, and Kubernetes

  • Proficient with backend languages such as Python.

  • Executes priorities with precision and pace

  • High ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionally

  • Tech-savvy in using systems and tools to move faster and smarter

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements 

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.

Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
