Job Description:

The Re-Enrollment Specialist (Program Specialist) provides a high level of customer service and serves as the point of contact for students seeking readmission to the University. The position works with returning students from application to enrollment in classes. Serves as a liaison between students and academic departments and works closely with the Eagle Achievement Center to ensure that students have the appropriate resources to succeed. Reviews applications, evaluates transcripts and ensures that all required documents are completed. Interprets and applies student record policies and procedures for students, faculty and staff. Develops reenrollment activities to recruit students to return to the University for degree completion. Coordinates special enrollment programs for students taking classes away from the University. Manages general academic records functions related to enrollment and records maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the reenrollment to the University process – from application completion to assisting with next steps for a smooth transition.
  • Works with academic departments and the Eagle Achievement Center to ensure returning students have the resources that they need to succeed
  • Works with the Academic Review Committee providing information on students returning with academic challenges
  • Evaluates transfer credits and provides summary reports to students.
  • Maintains a database of returning students, providing reports, and tracking their progress.
  • Participates in the enrollment process and addresses academic records issues.
  • Coordinates the Inter-Institutional, Baltimore College Exchange and other special enrollment programs at the University.
  • Works closely with the Transfer Coordinator and collaborates on projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or combination of college coursework and three plus years of higher education and administrative experience preferred.
  • Three plus years of related customer service experience preferably in a higher education environment.
  • Experience working in records management system and the ability the interpret, explain, and operationalize policies and procedures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Peoplesoft (Student Records), ImageNow software and database management.
  • Ability to learn and interpret rules, regulations, and policies regarding the enrollment and/or registration processes.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, students, and staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of higher education is preferred
