Job Summary
Provides front-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues. Handles help desk requests, installs and configures workstations, documents routine procedures, and coordinates basic repairs to keep systems running smoothly.
Essential Functions
Provide general technical support and perform routine processes required to insure proper completion and monitoring of tasks and provided services.
Accurately document instances of software or hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal, and other work requests.
Performs Help Desk support to all users in the organization, properly records, and dispatches technicians to resolve reported issues.
Documents routine procedures and routinely reviews this documentation for accuracy.
Performs initial software install and configuration on client workstations.
Performs basic network wiring support for occasional additions or changes to network drops.
Images and installs software on new computers and prepares them for assignment to users in the organization.
Provides general assistance in coordinating repairs and warranty handling of computer hardware.
Additional Responsibilities
Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Pursuing a degree in Information Systems or Computer Science from an accredited University or College preferred.
Excellent clerical skills with demonstrated attention to detail in organizing and maintaining information.
Adept at reading and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
Strong interpersonal skills, oral communication skills, and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
The employee must exert up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
