Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises production employees across multiple lines, including Machine Operators and Packers (team size of approximately 15 per shift).
Provides training, coaching, and performance feedback to hourly staff.
Duties/Responsibilities
Supervises and coordinates shift activities for up to seven production lines.
Monitors machine performance and output to ensure quality and efficiency targets are met.
Collaborates with Quality Supervisors to ensure finished goods meet all customer specifications for size, print, fold, and finish.
Troubleshoots and resolves production issues related to equipment, materials, or staffing.
Maintains accurate shift documentation, including production reports and downtime logs.
Adjusts shift assignments and workforce utilization to align with changing production needs.
Supports continuous improvement efforts aimed at reducing waste and improving throughput.
Tracks material usage and communicates inventory needs to the Production Support Coordinator.
Participates in daily meetings with planning, maintenance, materials movement, and quality teams.
Promotes safety compliance and enforces housekeeping standards on the production floor.
Recommends and supports process changes, equipment upgrades, and layout improvements.
Trains team members on proper machine operation, quality checks, and safety procedures.
Ensures smooth shift handovers and proper documentation of ongoing or unresolved issues.
Performs other related duties as assigned in support of operational goals.
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Working knowledge of machine operations and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating across departments.
Ability to analyze and resolve production issues in a fast-paced setting.
Skilled in production reporting, material tracking, and shift planning.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other improvement tools is preferred.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Prior experience managing multiple lines and large teams (15+ employees) required.
Proficiency with production software, Excel, and reporting tools.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
Requires regular movement between machines and production areas.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
Requires visual and manual dexterity for monitoring equipment and quality inspections.
