Summary

As a Workday Administrator at Hummingbird, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our Workday platform to ensure seamless Finance and HR operations. Your responsibilities will include providing technical support, implementing system enhancements, and assisting with the deployment of new features. This role involves close collaboration with HR and Finance stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the Workday platform effectively meets business needs.

For this opening, we’re looking for a Workday expert who enjoys solving complex problems and finding practical, scalable solutions. If you love connecting business needs with tech possibilities, and making Workday do more with less, you’ll fit right in. Experience with Projects, Project Billing, Financial Accounting, Expenses, Customer Contracts, Revenue Management, Compensation, and Advanced Compensation is especially valuable. You’ll collaborate with Finance, HR, and Operations to automate, streamline, and simplify. We’re a lean, hands-on team where curiosity and collaboration go a long way.

Employment Eligibility: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

FLSA Status: Exempt

Compensation: $96,000 - $110,000 - $118,000 per year less statutory deductions

Work Location: Remote. You must work from a location within the United States with consistent internet service.

Travel: 2-3 times/year for company events

Maintenance

  • Manage ongoing maintenance and updates to the live Workday system to ensure reliability and performance.

  • Provide technical support during and after the deployment of system enhancements, fixes, and biannual releases.

  • Monitor Workday Community and forums to stay updated on best practices and opportunities for optimization.

  • Conduct thorough reviews, testing, and implementation of system fixes and changes, adhering to established change control procedures.

Optimization

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the Workday system, aligning it more closely with evolving business needs.

  • Implement configuration changes and minor system adjustments to improve workflows and user experience.

  • Recommend and assist in implementing new processes, policies, and standards to enhance system usage.

  • Design, test, and deploy configuration changes, reports, and dashboards as part of ongoing system improvement efforts.

Support

  • Serve as the primary system and user support contact for assigned modules, while building cross-functional knowledge to support other system areas.

  • Deliver prompt and effective technical support, ensuring timely resolution of Workday application issues.

  • Coordinate training, documentation, and communication efforts for new system features within primary modules, supporting these efforts for secondary modules as needed.

  • Manage ticket triage and resolution efforts within the IT ticketing system.

Deployment

  • Support the deployment of additional features and modules within the live Workday system.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and alignment with business processes.

  • Gather and document functional requirements for new module deployments and system enhancements.

  • Develop test scripts, perform testing, and ensure successful deployment of additional features and modules.

Required & Desired Skills

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of Workday Administrator, business analyst and/or application support experience with hands-on responsibilities, including requirements gathering, system maintenance, and user support.

  • Proficiency in configuring Workday Core HCM. Experience with Workday Financials or Projects (PSA) strongly preferred. 

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • A systems mindset with a focus on maintaining and optimizing live systems, including understanding system interdependencies and proactively addressing potential issues.

  • Solid problem-solving abilities with attention to detail, capable of troubleshooting issues and implementing effective solutions.

  • Experience with change control procedures, ensuring that all system changes are properly tested and documented before implementation.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in Workday Expenses, Customer Contracts, Revenue Management, Compensation and/or Advanced Compensation.

  • Familiarity with process re-engineering and change management.

  • Experience supporting the deployment of Workday modules.

  • Familiarity with data protection regulations and security standards.

  • Workday certifications or formal training in relevant modules.

  • Experience implementing and/or support Workday with a consulting partner
