JOB SUMMARY

THE FOCUS IS YOU: 

We are looking to add a Tax Senior Accountant to be a part of our Northeast Region. The Tax Senior will prepare and review mainly individual tax returns for the High Net Worth Practice. The individual will also be involved in supporting staff in advising clients on the day-to-day operation of their business, as well as tax planning, tax research and tax preparation. The individual will, from time to time, be responsible to prepare various entity related tax returns as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Regular duties include (but are not limited to):

• Prepare federal, state and local tax returns, extensions, and quarterly projections for various clients (C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, Individual, Trust, Not for Profit), including gift tax returns
• Review tax returns and work of staff and interns and provide feedback, training and mentoring
• Review tax information supplied by client and obtain open items
• Assist with the coordination of planning, tax work and wrap up
• Facilitate tax research, and establish tax strategies to client business opportunities
• Identify and communicate tax issues to managers and partners
• Participate in firm’s marketing, recruiting, team-building, and similar efforts
• Build relationships with clients and staff
• Adhere to firm’s policies and procedures

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 

Experience

• 4-6 years in relevant position in public accounting or other professional services environment preferred
• Knowledge of Axcess is a plus
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Ability to explain tax issues in plain language
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Responsive to clients
• Approaches projects with a sense of urgency
• Highly motivated
• Outstanding analytical, organizational and project management skills

For job postings in the state of NY, we are required by law to include a good faith salary range for every job, promotion, and transfer opportunity in accordance with the New York State Pay Transparency Law. This range considers many factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s knowledge, job specific skills, experience, licensure, and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $93,000 to $130,000.
