Who we are looking for:
First Eagle is seeking a Systems Engineer to participate in the support, maintenance and overall operations of a Windows-based infrastructure environment to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly server infrastructure, e-mail system and messaging infrastructure, desktop infrastructure and system and production administration. This person will be part of the Technology Infrastructure Group.
What you will do:
Strategy & Planning
Work with team to design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements
Work with team to develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management
Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the IT team
Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts
Be a key part of the team that develops the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmaps for storage and database servers across the organization in conjunction with company objectives
Work closely with operations, project management, application development, and network security teams to develop scalable, maintainable, consistent, and highly available storage architectures that meet business objectives and set relevant service-level agreements
Operational Management
Work with other IT members to manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including servers, storage, virtualization, security, cloud, and so on
Assist in defining hardware and software standards in conjunction with business owners and stakeholders
Test systems and storage performance and provide performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining infrastructure
Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation
Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
Design and perform systems and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports
The qualities you should have:
Undergraduate degree in computer science or related field preferred
5+ years of related experience
Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments.
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware.
Experience in interpreting the applicability of local and federal laws/regulations to company operations.
Design, configure, test and implement all server hardware, including the operating system and third party applications
Advanced knowledge and experience with
Cloud systems, including IaaS and SaaS
SQL Server and Clustering
Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy
Windows administration, clustering, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Enterprise Anti-Virus, malware, and spam solutions
Application, file (including SAN storage environment) and print servers
Virtualization and Remote Access
Enterprise deployment and migration tools
Server management and scripting
Backup solutions
Solid teamwork skills and work ethic; a collaborative work style is essential
Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, and efficient
Keen attention to detail
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong customer service orientation
Base Salary range: $100,000 - $130,000. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus. Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to – the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
