Job Overview

    DFW Airport is seeking an experienced Grounds Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the maintenance of our expansive airport grounds. This role is essential in ensuring our landscapes, green spaces, and public areas meet the highest safety, regulatory, and aesthetic standards while leading a skilled team of grounds maintenance professionals.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Plan, schedule, assign, inspect, and evaluate daily grounds maintenance activities, including turf care, landscaping, litter removal, pest control, fence repair, and foul weather operations.

    • Coordinate maintenance efforts with other airport departments and outside contractors to meet operational needs.

    • Ensure staff licensure requirements are met and recommend employee development programs.

    • Maintain accurate daily work records, inventory levels, and oversee the care of tools, equipment, and vehicles.

    • Research products and services, prepare and manage the annual operating budget, and monitor contractor performance.

    • Respond to emergencies, adjust schedules, and reassign work priorities as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Four (4) years of experience in landscape and grounds management.

    • One (1) year of supervisory experience.

    • Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (or ability to obtain within probationary period

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Formal education in horticulture, landscape architecture, or agronomy (may substitute for up to two years of experience).

    • Experience in a large-scale or public works grounds management environment.

    Working Conditions:

    • Combination of office and outdoor work, including exposure to weather, dust, fumes, and noise.

    • Frequent manual labor with lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

    • Operation of vehicles and equipment with hand/foot controls.

    • Requires valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
