Job Overview
Under the general direction of the Senior Manager, Health and Wellness, responsible for the administration of the Airport’s health and wellness programs. Coordinates the development and implementation of health and wellness programs, such as managing vendor relationships, health assessments, lifestyle behavior challenges, educational intervention programs, training and other special events as needed to meet Board initiatives and program goals.
What you will be doing:
- Assesses employee health and wellness needs through data analysis, surveys, and assessments; uses findings to design and deliver targeted wellness programs aligned with organizational goals.
- Plans, implements, and promotes wellness initiatives across fitness, nutrition, stress management, disease prevention, and health education to improve employee wellbeing and reduce long-term healthcare costs.
- Manages vendor relationships and coordinates services such as EAP, financial wellness, health clinics, screenings, and intervention programs.
- Develops and executes communication and marketing plans in partnership with the Communications Team to increase awareness and participation in wellness programs.
- Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness through data collection, utilization reports, claims analysis, participation metrics, and satisfaction surveys; provide recommendations for improvement and cost savings.
- Delivers new hire orientations and staff training to promote wellness resources and maintain industry knowledge.
- Supports operational needs including facility opening/closing, maintenance coordination, and database management for incentive tracking and targeted outreach.
- Prepares and presents reports on wellness program outcomes and cost-benefit analyses to senior leadership.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, health promotion or a related field.
- Three (3) plus years of experience in developing and implementing components of a comprehensive health and wellness program, with experience in onsite fitness programs, corporate wellness, and/or fitness and functional capacity evaluations.
- One (1) plus year of lead or supervisory experience.
- CPR/AED and first aid certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of occupational health and wellness with emphasis in development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive wellness program.
- Skill in onsite fitness center supervision and management.
- Skill in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to ensure wellness programs maintain high standards by pursuing relevant certifications and awards.
- Able to represent the Airport in community health events and conferences.
- Ability to lead and supervise Health & Wellness team members and contractors in daily operations, program delivery, customer service, and facility management of the LiveWell Center and satellite locations.
- Ability to plan, control and develop time and cost estimates for project activities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships inside and outside the organization.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and be a role model for healthy living and promoting healthy lifestyles.
- Ability to lead educational or physical workshops to DFW Airport staff.
- Ability to navigate and manage health and wellness platforms.
- Ability to utilize excellent customer service skills
What we desire:
- Certified in Health Promotions.
- Corporate Wellness Certification.
- PHR, CEBS or benefits related certification(s).
- Master’s degree in Health, Health Promotion, Human Resources or equivalent
Effort:
- Works in an office and fitness facility-environment.
- May walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds of weight.
- May provide 3 – 5 aerobic, mind/body or cardio training classes per week.
- May provide 3 - 5 educational workshops per week.
- Uses keyboard devices and computer monitors.
- Uses near-visual acuity in reading written documents, drawings, contracts and technical specifications.
- Uses substantial reasoning abilities in performing analysis and solving problems.
- Exchanges information by phone, in writing and in person.
- Ability to navigate and drive to various locations on Airport property
