Who We Are
CardWorks, Inc. is a diversified consumer finance service provider and parent company of CardWorks Servicing, LLC, Merrick Bank and Carson Smithfield, LLC.
CardWorks Servicing, LLC provides end-to end operational servicing functions for credit cards, secured cards, and installment loans. We service consumer and small business loans across the credit spectrum and offers backup servicing and due diligence services to capital providers and trustees.
Merrick Bank is an FDIC-insured Utah Industrial Loan Bank. Merrick operates three main business lines: credit cards, recreational lending, and merchant services.
Carson Smithfield, LLC provides a variety of post-charge-off debt recovery services, including digital self-service, IVR, live agent, and external agency management.
Position Summary:
The Manager, Card Business Analytics (Loss Prevention Strategy) plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing post charge-off Recovery strategies aimed at maximizing return on investment through Agency, Legal, DSC and Debt Sale channels. This position serves as a strategic partner across the company, applying advanced analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of current loss mitigation initiatives and drive innovation in recovery strategy. This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, particularly operations, to align Recovery initiatives with broader business objectives. Additionally, the Manager is also responsible for overseeing compliance with audit and regulatory standards, while documenting and improving key processes and performance metrics within the Recovery function.
Essential Functions:
Oversees the application of advanced quantitative and statistical techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of current strategies, identify opportunities for improvement and support implementation of new initiatives that drive recovery performance and operational efficiency.
Serves as the strategic liaison between Strategy, Operations, IT and other key stakeholders. Leads initiatives to design, enhance, and optimize programs, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer treatment strategies.
Leads the execution of key operational priorities, including: Overseeing four primary Recovery streams – Agency, Legal, DSC and Debt Sales; and developing, maintaining, and analyzing reporting to evaluate program improvement
Ensures leadership has visibility into trends, gaps, and opportunities to inform decisions.
Maintains detailed and accurate documentation of Collection/Recovery processes and procedures consistent with an audited environment, responsible for overseeing functional compliance with Bank policies, audit controls, and regulatory requirements.
Understands and documents the current state of the business, including key metrics, workflows, and systems, with a focus on transparency, performance optimization, and cross-functional alignment
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline such as, Math, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Statistics, Business Intelligence, or Financial Engineering is required.
Master’s or advanced degree is preferred.
Five (5) years or more of risk analytics, statistics or equivalent experience in Credit Card Industry or Consumer Finance is required.

Strong data programming skills with SQL/SAS, as demonstrated by two or more years of experience.
Ability to drive projects across various stakeholders in multiple lines of business.

Self-motivated and organized; strong collaboration and teamwork skills; and a problem-solver oriented toward achieving results.
