The Night Shift Aggregate Foreman is responsible for leading overnight mill operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production during non-daytime hours. This role supervises hourly team members, coordinates workflow, and serves as the primary on-shift leader, maintaining operational continuity and addressing issues in real time.
Aggregate Foreman Core Skills & Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Supervision
- Lead and coordinate hourly production employees during the night shift.
- Serve as the primary on-site leader during overnight hours, making sound decisions to maintain operations.
- Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and training to team members.
- Enforce company policies, work rules, and attendance standards.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate nightly priorities and expectations.
Safety & Compliance
- Apply strong knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all PPE requirements.
- Respond appropriately to incidents and maintain accurate incident reporting.
Production & Operational Excellence
- Monitor production processes to meet output, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Lead shift turnover communication with day shift to ensure smooth handoffs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify overnight process opportunities.
- Maintain accurate production and downtime reports.
Problem Solving & Equipment Coordination
- Troubleshoot operational and equipment issues in real time.
- Coordinate with on-call maintenance as needed.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and strong operational awareness.
Communication & Administrative Skills
- Communicate effectively across shifts and departments.
- Use basic computer skills for reporting, documentation, and recordkeeping.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or mill environment.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Ability to work night shift hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.

Working Conditions
- Industrial manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and moving equipment.

- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders, work from elevated workspaces/heights, and safely enter and work within confined spaces.
