Job Overview

DFW Airport is seeking a results-driven Infrastructure Electrical Maintenance Manager to lead a team of employees and contractors responsible for maintaining the airport’s vital infrastructure systems. This leadership role oversees operations across airfield and landside environments—including lighting, power, signage, and structural assets—to ensure DFW remains a world-class hub for safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Direct and coordinate the maintenance and operations of airfield lighting, garage and exterior lighting, emergency power systems, gate controllers, switchgear, and signage/markings.

  • Oversee staff and contractors performing construction, maintenance, repair, cleaning, and security of physical infrastructure while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Develop and implement strategies to deliver exceptional customer service across airport departments.

  • Review, evaluate, and approve bid specifications, contract submittals, and contractor pricing.

  • Monitor contractor and in-house performance to ensure adherence to contract terms, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Plan and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and prepare financial and operational reports.

  • Evaluate staff performance, ensure employee development, and enforce safety and operational procedures.

  • Partner with Environmental Affairs to ensure all infrastructure activities comply with environmental regulations and sustainability goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Industrial, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • At least six (6) years of experience in infrastructure management services.

  • At least four (4) years of direct supervisory experience.

  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

  • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.

Key Skills and Expertise

  • Strong leadership and team management skills across diverse maintenance and construction teams.

  • Strong background in electrical systems

  • Proficiency in contract management, bidding, and vendor evaluation.

  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, inspection, and quality assurance techniques.

  • Ability to develop budgets, estimates, and project schedules.

  • Experience with technical systems such as lighting, power, signage, and switchgear operations.

  • Skilled in interpreting blueprints, specifications, and maintenance documentation.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to prepare reports and present to leadership.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems (e.g., Oracle, CMMS).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in contract compliance and quality assurance programs.

  • Knowledge of DFW Airport systems or similar large-scale transportation infrastructure.

  • Advanced degree in Engineering Management or Business Administration.

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office, field, and industrial environments.

  • Regular travel across airport property, including secured (AOA) areas.

  • Exposure to outdoor elements, construction zones, and high-traffic work environments.

  • Frequent use of computers, radios, and reporting systems.
