Pay Range:
$40,300.00 - $66,250.00POSITION SUMMARY
Performing routine quality control testing of stem cell products using protocol-defined assays to demonstrate their activity. The assays include culturing and handling of stem cells, primary cells, and basic cell lines for use in flow cytometry and immunocytochemistry (ICC). The position requires routine documentation, data analysis and good communication of results. Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) documentation and workflow is required. Other duties include instrumentation maintenance, reagent preparation and routine lab support for QC antibody testing using western blot, simple wes and immunohistochemistry.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Follow standard operating procedures for quality control testing of stem cell products and reports the results to the supervisor.
Use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) for data analysis.
Culturing and handling of stem cells, primary cells, and basic cell lines for routing use in quality control testing.
Isolation of primary cells from human/animal blood and animal tissue for use in stem cell quality control tests.
Perform flow cytometry and ICC.
Perform westerns and Simple Wes antibody QC testing.
Perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) antibody QC testing.
Assist with lab support functions, including instrument calibration and maintenance, reagent ordering and preparation, waste disposal, and laboratory cleaning.
Assist with the monitoring of lab supplies and ordering.
Participate and actively take part in laboratory meetings.
Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance with the job.
Follow GMP guidelines, documentation, and workflow.
Assist in revising and drafting of SOPs.
The ability to work some weekends and holidays.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Position requires a B.S. degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field, and 0 - 2 years related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to pay attention to details and perform at a high-level accuracy.
Ability to plan, organize and multi-task to complete assignments in an efficient and timely manner.
Knowledge of basic computers and Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledge and skills pertaining to laboratory equipment.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
Ability to communicate professionally, both oral and written.
The ability to independently setup and perform experiments.
The ability to work in a team setting by interacting with others and take instruction to handle other’s tests.
Knowledge of cell culture and aseptic technique is preferred.
