About the Job.Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive walkthroughs of units and buildings to identify outstanding items on the punch list.
Complete minor repairs across multiple trades, including but not limited to carpentry, drywall, paint, plumbing, electrical, hardware, and flooring.
Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure the timely completion of outstanding work.
Track and update the punch list status, communicating progress to the project team.
Ensure final units are clean, functional, and meet all aesthetic and quality standards.
Report any recurring quality issues to the JPI Trades Superintendent for process improvement.
Maintain a clean and safe job site, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
Assist with final inspections and resolve any issues noted by inspectors or ownership teams.
Measure and cut wood, drywall, and other materials.
Construct and adjust frameworks, including walls, doors, frames, windows, and staircases, ensuring precision and adherence to quality control (QC) specifications.
Adjust and repair cabinets, drywall, and other fixtures.
Repair and maintain existing structures.
Finish and Trim Work: Perform finish and trim carpentry, including the installation of moldings, baseboards, crown moldings, and other decorative elements to enhance interior aesthetics.
Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with technology, such as project management software or digital measuring tools.
Adaptability: The ability to adjust to changing project requirements or unexpected challenges is vital for maintaining workflow and meeting deadlines.
Leadership: Experience in mentoring or training Junior Punch Technicians can be beneficial for fostering team growth and maintaining high standards.
Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
Collaboration: Work closely with other construction workers and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure project timelines are met.
Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide timely updates, and address any concerns that may arise during the project.
Education, Work Experience, & Physical Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred.
Experience: At least three years of experience in carpentry, Drywall, Tape bed, and texture with a focus on finishes.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings; skilled in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy materials, climbing, and working at various heights.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision and attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes.
Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills to address challenges and find practical solutions on the job.
Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and clients professionally.
