The Department of Criminal Justice in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences invites applications for a non-tenure track position at the rank of Lecturer in Forensic Investigation, to begin in Spring 2026.Responsibilities:
Teach in both the graduate and undergraduate programs and advise students in person and online (visit our website, www.coppin.edu, for a comprehensive overview of the department and its course offerings.
Teach with technology (i.e., Blackboard Learning Management System - Blackboard Ultra). Familiarity with using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Serve on departmental, college, and university-wide committees as a representative.
Serve as advisor for designated student club.
Engaging in activities for professional societies.
Provide supervision of students in field internship courses as necessary.
Support internal and external partners by serving in a subject matter capacity in efforts to stay current in the field.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION
A Ph.D. in Forensic Science or a closely related discipline is preferred. Candidates with a master's degree in forensic science or a related field, along with relevant professional licensure, will also be considered.
EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated experience teaching forensic science courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in areas such as law enforcement, criminal investigation, or related fields, or experience training forensic scientists in classroom or laboratory settings. Candidates without a Ph.D. must have a minimum of seven years of professional experience in the forensic science field.
Computer experience with Microsoft Office required.
