Job Description

The Swim Team Graduate Assistant will work closely with the Head and Assistant Swim Team Coach to learn and assist in any and all elements of coaching a collegiate swim program. This is a part-time, 20 hours a week, position.

Responsibilities:

  • Organizing and planning with the Head Coach/coaching staff
  • Working one-on-one with athletes
  • Coaching at practices
  • Driving to and attending all swim meets
  • Working alongside the Head Coach in all tasks as requested
  • Organizing team building & Community connection activities
    • Monthly – ideas? (fall festival, Christmas party, Polar Plunge…)
    • Weight room
    • “specialty” group – create and run practices.
    • Home meet preparation: coordinate with assistant coach and Meet Day Manager
    • Manage meet snacks/supplies/inventory.
    • Recruiting process
  • Work directly with Study Hall and all academic progress and accountability and support. Monitor progress of all athletes working toward Academic All-Conference status.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Acceptance into a Campbellsville University Graduate Program
  • Enrollment in one graduate course each graduate term per year.
  • Competitive collegiate swimming experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Interest and ability to work with College Athletes
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date)  
  • A current driver’s license is vital to fulfilling the responsibilities of this position.
