Job Summary:

Responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of education and competency for the Case Management Department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops, coordinates, and facilitates onboarding, orientation, and continuing education for new and existing case management team members throughout the system

  • Creates and maintains annual competency assessments, educational materials, and skill validation.

  • Creates training materials and tip sheets specific to case management workflows

  • Provides education on CMS, Joint Commission, and payer regulatory standards such as code 44, MOON, HINN, IMM, ABN, Two Midnight Rule, and patient choice.

  • Monitors staff performance for adherence to regulatory, documentation, and policy standards.

  • Collaborates with Physician Advisors, Revenue Cycle, Compliance, and/or Risk, to identify trends and develop corrective education plans as needed.

  • Supports preparation for CMS, Joint Commission, and other regulatory surveys.

  • Partners with leadership to develop standardized processes, tools, and policies across the system.

  • Serves as a clinical resource for all case management team members throughout the system.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

  • Works under minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Knowledge of CMS and payer regulations related to hospital utilization management and discharge planning

  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment and across multiple facilities

Position Requirements:

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire.           

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire.
