Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician II performs repairs, adjustments, overhauls, and preventive maintenance on laundry and boiler room equipment. This role requires quick and accurate troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues, along with basic plumbing, carpentry, welding, and electrical tasks — all with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Diagnose issues by inspecting equipment visually, audibly, and through testing.
  • Perform skilled tasks in welding, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment (up to 250 amps).
  • Install, align, and maintain drive systems, couplings, bearings, shafts, and pulleys.
  • Start up and shut down plant equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Complete preventive maintenance and log all work performed.
  • Maintain safety standards and use proper PPE.
  • Train and assist junior maintenance staff.
  • Operate forklifts and manlifts safely.
  • Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety regulations.
  • Assist and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; 4+ years of related experience.
  • Strong skills in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, welding, and carpentry work.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and computer literacy.
  • Able to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Knowledge of HAZMAT, MSDS, and safety procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
