This is a 12-month, hybrid in-person/virtual, pharmaceutical industry-based Medical Information and

Communication fellowship in Charlotte, NC. The mission of the fellowship program is to prepare

newly licensed pharmacists with the expertise needed to begin a career in the pharmaceutical

industry or academic setting. The fellowship has an industry focus within Medical Information and

Medical Education, with teaching opportunities at an academic institution.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to questions from internal and external health

    care professionals (HCPs) about FMCNA products or

    related disease states using accurate, fair-balanced, and

    succinct written documents

  • Devise appropriate and comprehensive literature searches

  • Critically evaluate literature on various topics and write indepth

    responses or summaries

  • Present continuing education lectures to HCPs on

    nephrology, dialysis, and critical care topics

  • Present journal clubs about new literature related to nephrology, dialysis, and critical care to internal

    stakeholders

  • Create at least one online module related to current treatments in nephrology or dialysis

  • Complete at least one longitudinal research project

  • Facilitate skills labs at Wingate University School of Pharmacy (WUSOP)

  • Create renal related activities (ex. cases, questions, etc.) for students at WUSOP

  • Precept fourth year pharmacy students from UNC Chapel Hill and WUSOP

Opportunities

  • Participate and contribute to several educational initiatives offered by FMCNA

  • Attend conferences to network with other members of the scientific community and present research

  • Publish articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals

  • Gain exposure and leverage interactions with other departments in a large, uniquely combined device and pharmaceutical company

  • Additional projects and opportunities may be arranged based on the interest of the fellow
