JOB SUMMARY:

The I.E. Tech will assist with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing with direction and support from the OPEX manager and IE team. The I.E. Tech will support the team to implement plans that optimize performance, processes and systems. The I.E. Tech will play a crucial role in the implementation of the Lean Manufacturing Systems which include but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lean Responsibilities
    • Utilize lean tools to collect data for improvement projects
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements using lean tools
    • Read and interpret value stream maps
    • Read and interpret MSD (manufacturing system design) tool
    • Change agent for lean initiatives
    • Implementation of physical change improvements
    • Provide standardized work coaching
    • Facilitate 5S activities & strategies
    • Identify modifications needed to optimize ergonomics for operator workspace and part presentation
    • Support kaizen events and activities
  • Analytical Responsibilities
    • Documentation maintenance, updates
    • Problem Solving capabilities
      • 5 Why
      • PDCA (Plan Do Check Act) thought processes

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ergonomics Training Preferred
  • Rudimentary experience with AutoCAD preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of automotive manufacturing products and processes
  • Excellent performance, attendance, and attitude
  • Consistently positive interactions with managers, colleagues, and production personnel
  • Microsoft Office knowledge with Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, associate's degree in technical or business field preferred
  • Two years’ experience in Automotive Industry preferred

LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • No Travel expected.
