As our new Senior Geotechnical Engineer you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.
Role:
SLR International Corporation is seeking a senior-level Civil Engineer to work in our Reno, NV office. The Reno office of SLR provides a full range of professional services on a variety of challenging projects that include geotechnical engineering, earthworks and grading, stormwater management design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, environmental remediation and construction quality monitoring.
The selected candidate will work under the supervision of a principal engineer and will mentor junior staff while directing their own projects and technical work flows to deliver on; design; analysis; and preparation of specifications, calculations, and technical reports for a wide variety of mining and industrial projects.

Responsibilities:
Lead and take professional ownership of projects in a technical capacity
Perform engineering work for industrial and mining projects
Perform geotechnical calculations for slope and foundation stability
Calculation of construction and earthwork quantities
Visit project sites for the purpose of data collection and monitoring, performing investigations and / or performing construction inspection services
Utilize a variety of computer programs including AutoCAD Civil 3D software to undertake designs and computations
Write memos and calculation packages to document work performed

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Nevada, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
10+ years of experience
Working knowledge of Engineering software including, but not limited to:
Civil Design & Grading (Civil 3D)
Geotechnical Design (GeoStudio, Rocscience)
Possess valid driver’s license
Willing to travel by car and airplane, including overnight travel for domestic projects
Preferred Qualifications
M.Sc. preferred
Working knowledge of Engineering software including, but not limited to:
Civil Design & Grading (Muk3D)
Geotechnical Design (Plaxis, FLAC, CPeT-IT and CLiq)
Willing to travel for international projects
