Position Description:
The Medical Oncology Manager provides operational and management oversight to the medical oncology staff. This position Identifies proper clinic work flow by serving as liaison between the provider's needs and clinic's resources. Clinical knowledge of the nursing and physician workflow process shall be maintained and utilized in order to keep current with clinical processes and patient care in the medical oncology department. The manager provides leadership by working cooperatively with patient team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice and ICare standards in the clinical setting. The manager is responsible for managing and scheduling all staff to ensure adequate and fiscally responsible department coverage. The manager ensures all nursing services maintain compliance with facility policies and procedures and ensure that patient electronic medical records successfully meet QOPI, JCAHO, Meaningful Use, ONS Chemotherapy Administration Safety Standards and ACoS compliance/certification, while increasing survivor ability and lessening the burden of cancer.
Qualifications:
1. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in an Allied Health or related field required
2. Minimum of 5 years acute hospital experience preferred.
3. Medical Oncology experience preferred.
