Our business is seeking either a permanent part-time worker for 30 hours per week or a permanent full-time worker for 38 hours per week at our Wagga Wagga facility. The Poultry Farm Worker role will see you working in a controlled livestock environment to carry out the general duties associated with housing, rearing and hatching poultry. Duties such as, assisting in incubation, processing day old chickens, floor walking, feeding chickens, reporting, and maintaining strict biosecurity, quality, welfare and safety standards.
To be considered for this role you must possess:
• Enthusiasm to learn and a positive attitude to be an effective part of the team
• A proven track record of reliability, hard work and willingness to deliver and make a difference for our customers
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks between 10-20kgs
• Ability to perform repetitive bending and lifting
• Own transport and drivers licence
The poultry breeding industry has very strict bio-security and animal welfare standards as such applicants must satisfy our Biosecurity requirements including having no contact with other chickens, pet birds, pigs, or intensive livestock operations.
The successful candidate will require to undergo a pre-employment medical, which includes a drug and alcohol test. Also, this environment requires Respiratory Protective Equipment, which means the mask seal area is to be free of facial hair.
