The 16th Judicial Circuit of Missouri is hiring a Judicial Administrative Assistant for Division 9. The Judicial Administrative Assistant will work within the court’s structure to support court processes in the Division. The role involves assisting the Judge in ensuring the division’s efficiency and performing critical tasks, including processing judgments and orders; scheduling hearings and trials; and communicating with attorneys and the public as needed.
The position is full-time, state-paid position with benefits.
The Court Administrator is the appointing authority, and the Judge will provide direct supervision and task assignments on a day-to-day basis.
Typical duties and responsibilities include:
Preparing a variety of court documents related to the operations of the Court, including court orders, judgments, dockets, and the court calendar.
The judicial administrative assistant will coordinate and schedule hearings at the direction of the Judge and consistent with Division protocols.
Serve as an administrative support to the Judge in the courtroom and with jurors as needed.
Make docket entries to reflect case activities and progress.
Contact attorneys and other court personnel, as needed.
Interact with the public in a timely and courteous manner.
Perform other duties as required.

The ability to follow instructions and complete tasks as assigned.
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external individuals engaged in the Division's cases and activities.
The ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
The ability to demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills.
The minimum qualifications include an associate’s degree in a related field or at least 60 semester hours from an institution of higher learning, plus two years of varied administrative experience performing a wide range of technical office duties.
An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis, provided a high school diploma or GED has been obtained.
