Role Summary

We’re looking for a Cloud Application Architect to help shape the design and evolution of our cloud-native software platforms and applications on Microsoft Azure.

This role is about building great software in the cloud — designing scalable, secure, and maintainable systems, and helping teams collaboratively apply modern architecture practices.

You’ll work closely with engineers, platform specialists, and security teams to define architectural patterns, promote consistency across products, and enable high-performing teams to deliver reliable, cloud-native solutions.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and help drive the architecture vision for our cloud-based applications, focusing on scalability, resilience, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

  • Design and evolve distributed and modular architectures, including modular monoliths, microservices, and event-driven systems.

  • Collaborate with development teams to design APIs, data flows, and integration patterns across systems and services.

  • Partner with platform and DevOps engineers to ensure that infrastructure and automation support application needs effectively.

  • Participate in design reviews, provide architectural guidance, and help teams make sound design trade-offs that balance performance, simplicity, and reliability.

  • Support the creation of reference architectures, reusable components, and documentation that make architectural decisions clear and accessible to all teams.

  • Promote alignment across engineering teams through shared principles, golden paths, and consistent patterns for observability, error handling, and deployment.

  • Advocate for resilient and observable systems, ensuring high availability and graceful failure handling in production environments.

Key Qualifications

  • Solid experience designing and building cloud-native applications on Azure (or a comparable cloud platform).

  • Strong understanding of modern software architecture patterns — modular monoliths, microservices, message-driven design, DDD, and API-centric systems.

  • Hands-on background in software development (e.g., .NET, Node.js, Python, or similar).

  • Experience with containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Working knowledge of cloud services such as databases, storage, messaging, identity, and monitoring.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automation concepts (Terraform, Bicep, etc.), with a focus on how they support software delivery.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills — able to document decisions, align across teams, and drive shared understanding.

We Offer:

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision plans

  • Health Savings Account (HSA) with a company contribution

  • Generous Paid Time Off including 12 holidays, paid exercise time, paid volunteer time, and paid parental leave plans for all new parents

  • Retirement 401(k) plan with employer match and discretionary profit sharing contribution

  • Educational assistance and professional development programs including mentorship/coaching programs with external industry leaders

  • Additional benefits include Group Life Insurance, Voluntary Additional Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Employee Assistance programs, and more!
