Responsible for overseeing all aspects of supply chain management and ensuring the flow of raw materials and final products from suppliers to Garland Power & Light (GP&L) Transmission.
Pay Range: Starting at $27.55 (Depending on qualifications and experience)
Ensure GP&L Transmission logistics and inventory functions comply with all regulatory and budgetary requirements.
Develop, maintain, and compile accurate reports of inventory transactions and prepare monthly reports for GP&L Transmission Administration, GP&L Accounting, and Internal Auditing departments.
Assist with the preparation of responses to compliance requests for information, audits, compliance violations, spot check documentation.
Manage and maintain inventory and purchasing records including amount, type and value. Contact vendors and enter orders for supplies and materials using City of Garland purchasing procedures. Review purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
Develop processes to make supply chain more efficient, compliant, and organized.
Communicate with Transmission Administration to review and determine appropriate inventory levels.
Develops negotiation strategies, options, and contingency plans to mitigate supply risk, performance, and cost escalation.
Ensure monthly safety inspections on all GP&L equipment and report to GP&L management to ensure compliance.
Obtain operator certification for lifting equipment.
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D)
5 years related experience
Inventory management
OSHA Lift Director Certification
5-10 years with logistics, operations management, inventory management
5-10 years with electrical utility experience
Knowledge of equipment, tools, mechanical devices, and their uses
Basic knowledge of business practices and procedures
Basic to intermediate skills in PC and systems application
Good to excellent customer service and telephone etiquette skills
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple priorities to ensure vehicles are safe and ready for deployment
Proficient oral and written communications skills
Ability to adapt to various working environments
Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Basic familiarization with use of hand tools and minor electrical repairs
Mechanical and technical aptitude
Must be able to obtain Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) if needed.
The incumbent will work both in a typical office environment; relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards and will work in a typical electric utility job site and vehicle shop environment with associated unpleasant environmental conditions and hazards. May frequently lift and carry items ranging from 10 to 25 pounds. Occasionally bend, stoop and climb to assess or inspect vehicle operation. Frequently coordinate eye, hand and foot movements to operate a vehicle.
