Applied Public Health Project Work – 100%
Conduct Ph.D. level applied public health work in support of assigned practicum and/or capstone projects.
Apply public health frameworks, methods, and theory to real-world governmental public health operations.
Complete defined project deliverables that align with both academic requirements and departmental objectives.
Program Support & Operations
Support public health programs through planning, implementation, evaluation, or quality improvement activities.
Assist with development of protocols, tools, workflows, or program materials as appropriate to assigned projects.
Support department initiatives that strengthen service delivery, access, efficiency, or equity.
Data, Analysis & Evaluation
Assist with data collection, management, analysis, and interpretation related to public health programs.
Contribute to reports, summaries, dashboards, presentations, or written products used for internal decision-making, grants, or community communication.
Apply ethical and confidentiality standards when handling data and sensitive information.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
Support outreach, engagement, or collaboration with community partners and stakeholders as appropriate to project scope.
Assist with preparation for community meetings, outreach events, or educational activities when relevant to assigned work.
Professional & Academic Integration
Coordinate practicum and capstone requirements with academic advisors and department supervisors.
Participate in meetings, trainings, and supervision activities.
Demonstrate professional conduct, accountability, and adherence to County policies.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education
Applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited graduate‑level program related to Public Health, Applied Research, or a closely related field (examples include MPH, DrPH, PhD, or other relevant master’s or doctoral programs). This internship is intended for current students completing required practicum or applied learning experience hours as part of their graduate program.
Required Experience
None
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in public health, healthcare, community-based programs, research, or governmental settings.
Experience with data collection, analysis, or evaluation through coursework, projects, or employment.
Experience supporting community outreach, health education, or program implementation.
Experience working in team-based or interdisciplinary environments.
This position is non-exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay.
