The University of Akron’s Allied Health Department seeks to hire a Director of Medical Assisting to teach didactic and experiential courses within the School of Allied Health as well as administrative duties associated with the accreditation of the program. The individual may also assist in course development, accreditation, student advising, and evidence-based practice (and/or applied research) of relevance to the school.

Additional Position Information:

Required/ Minimum Qualifications:

1.       Bachelors degree (or higher) .

2.       Current Medical Assisting certification. (CMA, RMA, etc.).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

1.       A minimum of 2 years prior teaching experience.

2.       Experience teaching in an online/distance learning format.

3.       Experience as program director.

4.       Experience with accreditation policies and procedures.

5.       Experience using course management software (i.e., Brightspace, Blackboard, etc.).

6.       Experience with course development and assessment.

7.       Experience providing academic advising to undergraduate students.

8.       Experience undertaking evidence-based practice (and/or applied research) initiatives.

9.       Participation in activities that support programmatic and/or facility accreditation.
