Job Duties:

• Responsible for supervising and coaching all camp counselors, providing visibility and access to staff throughout the day.
• Responsible for correcting camper conflict when unit counselors are unable to, following camp policies and procedures.
• Responsible for assisting with staff training and staff scheduling.
• Communicate issues relating to staff to Camp Director.
• Assist in coordination of daily programming, curriculum writing, first aid materials, medications.
• Serve as point-person on field trips.
• Set the example for counselors in professionalism, enthusiasm, and engagement with campers and approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong leadership and organization skills.
• Knowledge of youth development and previous experience working in a camp setting.
• Must attend training week plus work all 10 weeks that camp is open for the summer (40 hours a week).
• First aid/adult and child CPR certification is required prior to start of camp.
• Lifeguard certification desired.
• Must submit to/pass pre-employment drug screen/background check.
