KEY ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE:
Reviews and administers contracts in accordance with federal, New York State and Suffolk County law and regulation;
Assists in the development of contract language;
Reviews claims for payment and assures conformance to contracts and program guidance;
Determines if claims are charged to appropriate budget categories;
Maintains files for contract records and reports;

Salary: Starting at $41,121 (commensurate with experience)
NOTE: The work shift for this role is 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
OPEN COMPETITIVE
Graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and three (3) years of experience in maintaining financial records, accounts, or journals, budgeting, or contract and/or claims processing, one (1) year of which must have involved contracts review, preparation, interpretation or administration.
This Role Is A Provisional Appointment
A provisional appointment, which occurs only in the competitive class, is a temporary appointment to a position for which no eligible list exists or for which an eligible list exists with fewer than three candidates who are willing to accept the position. In order to become permanent, the employee who is provisionally appointed must take the next examination for the position in question. The appointment to the position is then made from among the three highest scoring passing candidates who indicate their willingness to accept the position. Civil Service law does not compel the appointing authority to choose the provisional employee should he or she be one of the three candidates.
