BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for comprehensive departmental management and administration, program development and coordination, and general operations of Rehabilitation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education: Masters required.
Degree: Degree in administration, rehabilitation, or other related field.
License/Certification Required: None
Minimum Work Experience: 5 years progressive leadership experience

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops, implements, and evaluates programs and services within framework of long and short-range goals.
- Ensures that the department delivers quality service in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and professional standards. Establishes, maintains, interprets, and evaluates policies and procedures.
- Plans, coordinates, and evaluates complete scope of Rehabilitation Center activities within hospital organizational structure.
- Collaborates with program directors, rehabilitation managers, and supervisors to ensure development, promotion, and maintenance of rehabilitation and specialty programs across the continuum of care.
- Accountable for patient safety practices and improvements related to National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG), never events, and best practices in pediatrics. Works to improve and/or maintain the quality of services provided.
- Works with Development and Community Benefits staff to direct development, fundraising and community presence functions.
- Coordinates department functions with other hospital departments and maintains good employee relations, interdepartmental relations, and public relations.
- Maintains effective communication with administration, physicians and patient families; sets and achieves high departmental standards for effective communication.
- Develops job design and standards of performance. Evaluates performances and makes recommendations for personnel actions such as merit increases, promotions, and corrective action.
- Effectively communicates departmental, organizational, and industrial information to staff.
- Manages human resources (HR) to ensure quality services and promote positive employee relations. Maintains strong staff engagement and low turnover.
- Reviews department performance, affects changes, as needed, to improve services provided and ensure compliance with both hospital guidelines and regulatory requirements. Keeps administration informed of activities, needs, and problems.
- Develops and recommends department operating budget and ensures that the department operates within allocated funds. Applies cost-effective measures to select and purchase equipment and supplies via capital budget process.
- Monitors, reviews, justify and implements strategies to improve financial performance including expenses, revenues, and productivity.

- Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 1-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required. Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending, and reaching is required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
