Summary
Responsible for supervising and coaching the Garland Gator recreational swim team.
Pay Range: $18.00 - $27.00 (Depending on qualifications and experience)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
To oversee operations of the Garland Gators recreational swim team.
To provide positive swim instruction to all participants.
Register swimmers for and attend swim meets.
Maintain effective communications with Aquatics Manager and Pool Managers.
Maintain effective communication with guardians of swim team participants. Provide exemplary customer service to participants and parents.
Ensure a safe and inviting environment for swim team participants.
Prepare pool for swim team practice and events. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
3 years experience in coaching or assistant coaching a swim team
Must possess a Valid Class C Texas driver's license
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of competitive aquatic team sports
Knowledge of general water safety
Ability to teach swimming skills: all strokes, water entries, turns, etc.
Ability to carry out departmental emergency procedures
Provide exemplary customer service to participants.
Ability to perform physical activity as required Instruction in a swim program or Swim Team experience
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
Preferred high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma and college degree
Preferred level of experience; three years experience in coaching a swim team Ability to perform physical activity as required
Instruction in a swim program or Swim Team experience
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Class C Texas driver's license required
