Responsibilities

  • Waste Management: Coordinate the collection, sorting, and disposal of various waste streams, including recyclables and general refuse. This includes operating equipment like the cardboard compactor to process materials efficiently.
  • Housekeeping & Maintenance: Operate a floor sweeper and other cleaning equipment to keep production areas and walkways clean and free of debris. Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Material Handling: Safely operate a forklift to move materials, waste containers, and other items as needed.
  • Spill Response: Act as a first responder for spills, including those involving OPIM (Other Potentially Infectious Material) and BBP (Bloodborne Pathogen) cleanups, following established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Production Support: Assist production teams with minor tasks as directed by the Day Shift Lead, helping to ensure smooth operations.
  • General Duties: Perform other minor tasks assigned to support the overall facility.

Requirements

  • Bilingual: Must be fluent in both English and Spanish to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Familiarity with waste management and recycling practices.
    • Experience operating a floor sweeper and other cleaning equipment.
    • Forklift Certification: A current or willingness to obtain a valid forklift operator's certification is required.
    • Knowledge of and willingness to be trained in safety procedures for handling hazardous materials, including OPIM and BBP cleanup.
  • Physical Ability: The role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

Schedule & Compensation

  • This is an 8-hour, 2nd shift position with some required weekend work and overtime.
  • A 2nd shift differential is included in the compensation.
  • Pay is competitive and based on experience.
