Job Summary

The Public Investment Operations team oversees all operational aspects of the liquid real estate products (RMBS, CMBS, RE Corporate Debt) investing as well as the related hedging (Interest Rate and Foreign Exchange) from trade input and settlement to the on-going asset servicing. The Public Operations team is also responsible for the data governance and data integrity for the Public Investing platform. The ideal candidate for this role combines data science skills with real estate securities knowledge.

Essential Job Functions

Data Governance & Reporting:

  • Monitor and maintain position level risk data and resolve missing or incorrect system data
  • Enhance data quality checks and exceptions monitor using SQL and data visualization tools
  • Work with portfolio managers and traders to maintain data integrity
  • Support client/portfolio manager ad-hoc data and reporting requests
  • Understanding fund level risk metrics and provide explanations for significant changes
  • Creating process enhancements utilizing excel macros, snowflake/SQL queries and collaborating with the technology team to help optimize operational workflows
  • Monitor the daily pricing/valuation process and enhance variance checks
  • Overseeing and completing client and internal reporting such as fund level attributions, trade summaries and position level risk metrics

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL and experience working with large data sets
  • Experience working with Python for data analysis a plus
  • Experience with CMBS/RMBS, Fixed Income, Interest Rate derivatives, Foreign Exchange and trade life cycle is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; prior experience sitting with traders a plus
  • Familiarity with fixed income risk concepts such as DV01 and duration a plus
  • Ability to work with technology team on system enhancements
  • Undergraduate degree with 2+ years of experience in the financial industry or data science role
