Entity: Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center | Department: Speech Therapy & Audiology | Work Hours: M-F 7:30 am - 4:00 pm | Weekend Requirements: As Needed | 0.5 FTE

Job Summary:

Evaluates and treats patient populations for speech-language therapy needs according to appropriate competency levels.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct patient care, maintains clinical records, and follows performance improvement recommendations.

  • Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans.

  • Performs skill proficiency requirements as related to experience.

  • Aides with department maintenance.

  • Utilizes equipment and materials according to standards and identifies new resources desired for projected budget formulation.

  • Assists with statistical data collection for performance improvement projects.

  • Assists the supervisor with graduate student supervision by supervising SLP students completing clinical rotations.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

  • Works under minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Position Requirements:

Work Experience

  • No experience required

Education

  • Master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology required upon hire OR

  • Master's degree or higher in related field required upon hire                       

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • SLP - Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Kentucky required upon hire AND

  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
