Job Description Summary

Organization's Summary Statement: The Head Equipment Manager at the Xfinity Center is responsible for managing and supervising the daily operations of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics' (ICA) Equipment Rooms located within the Xfinity Center and Women's Lacrosse/Field Hockey Complex. This role serves the needs of the combined 10 varsity teams by overseeing all aspects of equipment management, including ordering, budgeting, issuing, collecting, maintaining, and recording information in compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Additionally, this position manages apparel and equipment explicitly for all assigned sports and performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands: While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee operates a computer and other office equipment, including telephones and copy machines. Constantly moves about the facility and event site before, during, and after events to service clients and support overall event management; continually communicates via telephone, email, and in person with others to exchange accurate information. Standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, balancing, and lifting up to 30 pounds. The scope of the position frequently requires weekend and evening work (non-standard work hours).

Preferences: Candidates with provable experience working in the athletic industry or a fast-paced environment.

Licenses/Certifications: NA

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in athletics, uniform or equipment management, student affairs, or academic affairs. One (1) year of experience supervising or managing professional staff.

Certifications: Requires Certification by the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) or ability to obtain certification within twelve (12) months.

Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: 

Knowledge of protective equipment.
Knowledge of laundering and spot removal
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service.
