Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One (1) year of professional administrative or coordinator experience.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Knowledge of best practices in organization, administration, and customer service.
Knowledge of proper protocol in dealing with confidential information.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.)
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service.
Preferences:
● Master’s degree with expertise related to the design and implementation of evidence-based learning strategies applicable to higher education and professional settings.
● Advanced knowledge of the current research related to metacognitive learning strategies and their applications.
● Three years of formal experience providing academic coaching and support for college students and/or adult learners.
● Experience designing and providing training related to academic learning and performance skills in both in-person and online formats.
● Demonstrated contribution to meeting all students' needs through academic programming and resources.
● Excellent communication and facilitation skills for a wide range of audiences.
● Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport and trust with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team; superior ability to lead, develop and administer academic programs.
● Full-time higher education experience serving as an academic skills specialist.
● Experience supporting students with disabilities related to academic learning and performance.
● Experience supporting and meeting the needs of all students.
● Experience with social media marketing and content development for university students.
