The Department of Entomology at the University of Maryland seeks a full-time, Professional-track (non-tenure) faculty Lecturer to contribute to the undergraduate curriculum in the Biological Sciences Program (BSCI). The positions begin on August 23, 2026. The appointee will teach 2 undergraduate courses per semester in Introductory Biology, Organismal Biology, and/or Genetics. Duties include preparing and presenting course materials, supervising and coordinating teaching assistants, and performing other duties as needed to accomplish the instructional mission. The appointee will also be a member of the department’s academic advising team. This is a 9-month position with opportunities for separately compensated teaching in summer or winter terms. As a faculty member in the Entomology Department, each appointee will be expected to participate in department and campus service.

Required Qualifications: Earned M.S. in appropriate discipline (the Biological Sciences broadly defined) at time of appointment. University-level teaching experience. Ability to develop course materials for online and traditional classroom instruction.
Preferred Qualifications: Earned Ph.D. in (the Biological Sciences broadly defined) at time of appointment. Experience teaching a full undergraduate course. Excellent communication skills as evidenced by teaching, research, and outreach activities. Training or scholarship in pedagogy.
